After 3 years, 3 moves, and 3 countries (USA, Finland & India) we’re on the move again with IKEA, and this time we’re heading South. In just a few short weeks Britt and I are pulling out of our home-base in the Chicago area and heading to Houston, Texas. Thanks to the work that Britt did in IKEA’s India trading office, she’s received a promotion and will now be a Social and Environmental Compliance Auditor in the Houston trading office. This position will take Britt (and I) all over North and South America, with an occasional trip to Sweden, so we are looking forward to a lot of travel in our future! As for the living in Texas goes…we’re still getting used to the idea. Although Britt spent some of her childhood in Florida, we are both “Northern/Midwestern” people. I have a definite Chicago accent, we both love deep dish pizzas and Italian Beef, snow and cold weather make us happy, you will not find any country music, daisy-dukes, cowgirl boots or Republican paraphernalia anywhere near us, not to mention that most of our family and friends live above the Mason/Dixon line. I know that those are generalizations about the South, however those “generalizations” exist for a reason. Nevertheless, we’re trying to keep an open mind and positive thoughts about our new destination. Now, it’s time for one of the things we do best…packing!

Have a great time in your new place!
Thanks! My parents are headed down to Australia in a few months, and I’ve directed them to your blog because of your great pictures and posts 🙂

Hi, Steph!
It’s been so long! Things have changed a lot since we last saw you. I hope all is well with you and the Hunter boys, and that Texas has been good to you! Like I said in the post, we’re a bit nervous about moving there.
We arrive in TX the week of Oct. 24th, and would like to see you and catch-up.
Keep in touch!
