I’ve only seen the Finnish Red Squirrel once, and it was just a glimpse while it darted between two trees. Ever since I’ve been trying to get a good picture of one. Needless to say, I was more than excited to have these guys climbing all over my pack! Not only did I get several pics, but this video as well!

What did you have in your backpack, a container of cashews???? Were you teasing it? 🙂
At first, I was just sitting there minding my own business, when all of a sudden I felt these two little paws on my shoulder. Slowly, I turned around and there was a squirrel leaning on my shoulder sniffing my hair. I had to shake my shoulder to get him off. After that he and some of his friends kept coming back and climbing over my pack. I did have some peanuts in the top pocket, which is probably what they were trying to get. I wanted to give them one, but I was afraid of being swarmed with a hundred little squirrels, so I didn’t.
That’s an inonuiges way of thinking about it.
