The Wild Rose

A lot has changed in the past two months since we arrived here in Turku. Everything is in bloom and the past week we’ve had an unusual heat wave, reaching into the mid 80’s during the day! Along with the start of the summer season is the tourist season. Now it’s not uncommon to hear english being spoken as we walk through the crowd. Turku is this year’s European Capitol of Culture and they have really put their best foot forward. Music festivals have started this week and will run through the end of August, along with several cultural festivals and exhibits.
