Don’t you love the feeling of peeling wet jeans, shoes, shirt etc. etc. off? Well, that what we got today for gawking. Britt & I decided to head out on a short bike ride down to the castle and back, and on our way we noticed an old train engine heading towards the harbor. We arrived at the castle a few minutes later, and ran into a friend so we stopped and chatted then headed around the other side of the castle and that’s when we came across the same old train engine again. Only, this time it was derailed and had split a truck in two.
Although we were very close to the scene, we never heard any crash or sirens. The driver of the truck was no where to be seen, but by the looks of the cab (which got thrown to the other side of the tracks) he probably got pretty banged up. We joined the crowd of gawkers and watched the emergency crew work for several minutes, and just as we hopped back on our bikes to ride home it started to rain. No… it started to pour! Luckily, I was wearing a waterproof jacket, but it didn’t matter. By the time we got home we were both soaked to the bone, but I guess that’s what we get for gawking!
