Outside of the United States there is a phenomenon going on…cycling. According to News Review, “there are more than a billion bicycles on the planet, twice as many as there are cars.” The good people at News Review compiled a list of the top ten countries with the most bikes per capita. Not surprising, the US didn’t make the list, while the Netherlands came in at number one. 33% of people in the Netherlands use a bike to commute. Here’s a link to a video of the bicycle rush hour in Utrecht, Netherlands compressed into 2 minutes. It’s crazy!
Back to the top 10 list, Finland came in at number 7. With all of us bicycle commuters here, more often than not it’s easier to pick out a parking space for a car than it is for your bike!
