What Do You Mean, You Don’t Eat No Pie?!

Tried my hand at baking today for the first time since we arrived in Finland. Had a helluva time finding everything I needed, and had to make a few adjustments. Since pie is not eaten here, none of the stores carry pie dishes, so I settled with a small bread-loaf dish. The biggest problem was finding shortening or lard for the pie crust. We asked several women in the market who all led us back to the butter, and we ended up coming home with a block of something that looked similar to lard. Using the fresh rhubarb and strawberries I got at the market, I threw together a pie.
It looked good before baking.

Got a little dark on top.

And it tasted so good!
